Ans : Biotic components means living components.Biotic components are those that have life.Plants and animals are biotic components.
2.Write the reaction for respiration.
Ans: Respiration is shown as the following reaction: Food+Oxygen Carbondioxide +Water+Energy.
3.How does excretion happen in plants?
Ans: Unlike animals,plants do not have specialised excretory organs.Excess carbon dioxide and oxygen are excreted from the plant through the stomata in the leaves.
4.What are unicellular organisms? Give example.
Ans: Some organisms such as Amoeba,Paramecium,bacteria and yeast are unicellular or single celled,that is, made up of one cell only.
5.Why is air vital for life on the Earth?
Ans: Air is important for living things. People need to breathe, and so do lots of other animals and plants. During respiration, all living thing takes in oxygen from the air and gives out carbon dioxide. This process gives animals and plants the energy to eat, grow, and live life.
6. What are secondary consumers?
Give two examples.
Ans: Secondary consumers are organisms that feed on primary consumers for nutrients and energy. The
two examples are snakes and spiders.
7. Write short note on"species".
Ans: Species is a group of organisms which share maximum number of common characters and are capable of breeding among themselves to produce fertile youngones.
