Answer: The weather was cool. The air was cold and their feet were fridged, not able to move .

Answer: They saw the steep (sharp angle) and narrow path.They felt lucid air.

Answer: Our bad thoughts and feelings lay in the world below.

Answer: The world below is full of bad thoughts and feelings that's why the poet wants to forget such kind of world. From the high above their souls are cleaned of bad thoughts and feelings.
