Answer:
From ancient times, the people of Lilliput had the belief to break the egg at the bigger end and this was their religious practice. Unfortunately the Emperor’s grandfather happened to cut one of the fingers while breaking the egg. Thus, the Emperor banned the practice. People opposed the order which caused a bloodshed. Many people took refuge in Blefuscu and the Emperor supported the rebels. Thus, the two Emperors began to fight on the principle of religion.

Answer:
The ancient way of breaking an egg was to break it at the bigger end but once the Emperor’s grandfather happened to cut his finger while breaking the egg. Thus, the Emperor banned the practice.

Many people protested against the new law. During the rebellion an Emperor was killed and another was dethroned. At least, 11000 people died. Many rebels took refuge in Blefuscu.

Ans. The island was situated to the north east coast of Lilliput. It was separated from Lilliput by a channel about 800 metre wide.

Ans. Gulliver was planning to take an action in Blefuscu to save Lilliput from the attack of Blefuscu. So, he didn’t want his enemy to see him in advance. That is why, he avoided appearing on the north – east coast of Lilliput.

Ans. The channel was about five feet deep in most places and 6 feet at some places. Gulliver armed himself with fifty hooks and fifty strong cords.
Gulliver twisted the cable together and made fifty strong cords. Then he twisted the iron bars and made fifty hooks with them. He tied the hooks to the cord carefully and then to the ships to drag them.
