Answer:
Phatik was 14 years old boy. He was ringleader of naughty boys. Phatik's friends are referred to as 'The Public'.
b. Who had been threatened? What was the threat?
Answer:
Makhan had been threatened. The threat was to step back/ get down from the log otherwise Phatik would thrash him also with log.
c. What had he done to be threatened by Phatik?
Answer:
He had not get down from the log even after threatened by Phatik.
d. What does the author mean by Phatik's regal dignity? How would his regal dignity be affected if he did not carry out the threat?
Answer:
He means to say that Phatik had to maintain his respect before his friends. If he didn't carry out the threat he couldn't be called a man of words for longer and no dignity will remain for him.
